One Foggy Night A DEAD MECH Prequel Short Apex Trilogy Book 0 eBook Jake Bible
I loved this, even though I had no idea who any of these people were, where this was taking place or even when. This short-story is, i'm guessing, for fans of the series and not as an introduction for newcomers. The writing is crisp, there's no effort to contextualize the action or the characters. This is for fans, period.Still it made me go back to amazon and buy the first book of the trilogy.
I was in love with Jake Bible's writing. Its brutal, savage, almost maniac. The whole short-story was a rush from the first to the last word. I was completely lost but i'll be damned if I wasn't having a blast. I was just sad when it was over so fast. It puts the short in short-story if you know what I mean. It left me wanting more. And I have a suspicion that was the author intended.

One Foggy Night A DEAD MECH Prequel Short Apex Trilogy Book 0 eBook Jake Bible Reviews
Well, if you like "Dead Mech" (and I did, more than I expected to - funny the things you'll try for free in the Lending library), you'll find this little nugget to be a fine addition. But I wouldn't start with this...unless you enjoy being confused.
But a very good short read held my attention thru out this book. I'm gonna get another book from Mr bible's soon. A very great .
Great Prequel.. I wish it was a full length novel. I really want more books from this series.
this was a 21 page short story prequel to his apex series. Two words to describe it. Gore and Porn. Reminded me a very bad version of Mad Max...gratuitous violence, and story jumped quickly through each characters quickly. It was hard to follow. If you're a fan of sex and violence, with no plot, go for it.
First off, story never lingers long on any of the numerous characters presented so with regard to Harlow and Masters they are a woman and man in a time hundreds of years after the zombie apocalypse talking about becoming mech pilots - Mechs being giant robot battle machines. Story stretched my limits as to being crazy violent and action-oriented complete with one wicked super human caged cannibal if that's your thing. Very WILD is all I can say!
This book has already hooked me on the new Darby Jake Bible. This is another in a long line of zombie books. Just a little taste to whet your appetite for more great zombie humor. Oh, zombies aren't funny you say, I say they're very funny right up till start to eat your face. Read this then come back and tell me it's not funny, I dare you.
I recommend reading this short story prior to reading the Dead Mech stories because this story provides an important bit of foundation for the other stories. It can stand alone, but taken together with the other stories it takes on a much larger role. This story introduces the reader to a future where humanity has been struggling to survive against the zombie hordes. What passes as civilization isn't very civilized and many of the primary characters have significant moral flaws, but by the end of the story you realize that many of them haven't given up on making the world a better place even though there isn't a lot of hope to be had. The story telling is well done and found myself quite engaged in the story.
